What Void Exodus is
Void Exodus is a roguelite space shooter with a story campaign. You fly the Lifeline, a lone escort fighter, at the edge of a convoy of thirty-one ships fleeing the colony of Halcyon. Enemies pour in from every side, your gun fires on its own at the nearest threat, and every level-up hands you a choice of three cards that reshape how the ship fights. Where most games of this kind are a single endless arena, Void Exodus strings its fights into seven chapters and an epilogue, each with its own sectors, set-piece objectives and a boss built from parts you can shoot off one by one.
Your pilot is Ember. Her brother Teo sleeps in cryo aboard the Meridian, the slowest freighter in the line, and the convoy has to reach Harrow's Gate before it shuts. Read more in Story and world.
The goal
Clear each chapter by completing the objective chain in its three sectors and destroying the boss at the end. A run is one chapter. If the Lifeline's hull runs out, it folds back to the convoy: you keep the salvage you earned, spend it in the workshop, and launch the chapter again from its first sector. Clearing a chapter opens the next one on the star map and awards a medal based on how much hull the convoy kept.
Your first five minutes
- Launch. On your very first visit, any key or click drops you straight into chapter 1, The Breakaway. Later visits open the convoy screen first.
- Move and let the gun work. The Pulse Cannon aims itself at the closest enemy. Your job is position: keep moving, circle the swarm, and do not let it pin you against anything.
- Read the objective card at the top of the screen. The first one asks you to destroy rogue drones; the hint line under the progress bar tells you the trick for each objective.
- Collect crystals. Destroyed ships drop them. Fly close and they pull in. A full experience bar pauses the fight and offers three cards; take what fits the build you want and read the short line on each card.
- Learn the afterburner early. Holding it while moving almost doubles your speed for a couple of seconds. It is your answer to anything that pulls, charges or closes in.
- Listen to the radio. Calls in the lower left warn you about each hazard before it hurts.

FAQ
Is it free?
Yes. The browser version is free to play here, with no download and no account, and covers the opening chapters of the campaign. The full run of seven chapters and the epilogue is planned for Steam, with no release date yet.
Does it save my progress?
Yes, automatically. Your salvage, workshop purchases, cleared chapters, medals and story choices are stored in your browser on this device. Clearing your browser's site data for the game erases them.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The game has full touch controls: a drag stick on the left, afterburner on the right, and tap for every menu.
How long is it?
The campaign is seven chapters plus a short epilogue. Each chapter is one run of three sectors ending in a boss, and you can replay any cleared chapter for a better medal. How long a run takes depends on your build and how often the convoy has to be rescued.
Do I lose everything when I die?
No. You keep all salvage earned on the run and every workshop upgrade. Your in-run levels and cards reset, as they do at the start of every chapter. The convoy's countdown only moves when you clear a chapter, so failed runs cost you nothing but time.
Can I change my mind about a story choice?
Yes. Replay the chapter and choose the other route at the gate. See Star map, routes and medals.
