Gems are Fliptempo's only currency, and the Garage is the only place to spend them. Everything else you unlock, rank, trophies and traits, is earned by playing and cannot be bought. There is no real-money shop.
Earning gems
| Source | Gems | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign level on Easy | 1 per gem collected, 5 per level | Paid the moment you touch a gem, even if you crash afterwards. |
| Campaign level on Hard | 1 per gem collected, 10 per level | Same rule. Hard pays double per level. |
| Replays | Same again | Gems respawn every attempt and pay every time, so replaying a level you have already cleared still earns. |
| Daily | 4 / 9 / 18 for 1 / 2 / 3 stars | Paid once per star level per day, plus the gems you pick up on the course. |
| Rank-ups | A bonus | Moving up the rank ladder can pay gems on the spot. |
| Endless | None | Endless courses carry no gems. |
A full sweep of the Easy campaign is 150 gems and a full sweep of Hard is 300. Your gem total is always shown in the top corner of the screen.
The Garage
The Garage sells crafts, the ball you fly. There are seven. Buying a craft equips it immediately, and you can switch between owned crafts at any time. Each craft is rated from 1 to 10 in four stats, and these ratings change the rules of the game, not just the look.
| Craft | Price | Surge | Pickup | Wall grace | Control | Signature |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ember | Free | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Baseline, every rating average |
| Azoth | 60 | 8 | 5 | 5 | 4 | Surge |
| Verdant | 180 | 5 | 9 | 5 | 5 | Pickup |
| Cinnabar | 400 | 5 | 6 | 4 | 9 | Control |
| Aether | 800 | 5 | 5 | 10 | 5 | Wall grace |
| Nigredo | 1,500 | 10 | 7 | 7 | 2 | Surge, paid for in control |
| Sol | 2,600 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Every rating maxed |
The whole Garage costs 5,540 gems. Owning every craft earns the Curator trophy.
What the ratings do
Every point above or below 5 moves the stat by a fixed step:
- Surge sets how long a Surge lasts, 10% per point. The base is 2.5 seconds, so Azoth's 8 gives 3.25 seconds and a 10 gives 3.75. It does not change how fast the meter fills.
- Pickup sets how far away gems are pulled in, 10% per point. Verdant's 9 grabs gems from 40% further out, which forgives a line that passes a gem slightly wide.
- Wall grace sets how long you can stay on one wall before your chain breaks, 10% per point. The base is 1.15 seconds; Aether and Sol stretch it to about 1.7. Note that the Surge overload still triggers after about one second of continuous contact on any craft, so extra grace protects your combo, not your charge.
- Control sets the strength of gravity, 6% per point. High control means lighter gravity and a softer, slower crossing that is easier to place. Low control means heavier gravity and a snappier crossing. Nigredo, at 2, has 18% stronger gravity than Ember; Sol, at 10, has 30% less.
Which craft is best depends on what you are chasing. For three stars, Verdant's pickup range makes the all-gems condition easier. For long Endless chains, Aether's wall grace is the most forgiving. Nigredo is for players who want maximum Surge and are comfortable with fast, heavy flips. Sol is simply better at everything and is priced to match.
Rank
Your rank is your total campaign stars, Easy and Hard together. With thirty levels at three stars on each difficulty, the ceiling is 180. The ladder runs Wood, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Challenger. Daily stars never count, so your rank always matches stars you can count in the level select. A promotion plays a short rank-up scene. Tap the rank badge on the main menu to see where you stand.
Trophies
The Trophy Hall holds 21 trophies in five groups. Each has a tier from Bronze up to Challenger.
| Group | Trophies and what they ask |
|---|---|
| Campaign | First Flight (clear any level), Halfway There (5 Easy clears), Easy Rider (all 30 on Easy), Hard Entry (any Hard clear), Hard Boiled (5 Hard clears), Fliptempo Master (all 30 on Hard) |
| Mastery | Perfect Run (3 stars on any level), Peak Output (30,000 in one campaign level), On Fire (a 20-flip chain, x5.0), Flip God (a 45-flip chain, x10.0), Purist (3 stars on a Hard level), Daredevil (50 near misses in total) |
| Score | Five Figures (10,000 in one run), Score Lord (50,000), Centurion (100,000) |
| Treasure | Gem Collector (every gem in one level), Full Sweep (100 gems in total from Easy clears), Curator (own every craft) |
| The long game | Daily Devotee (complete 7 Dailies), Endless Legend (50,000 in Endless), The Last Corridor (3 stars on level 30, Hard) |
The Last Corridor is the only Challenger-tier trophy. Fliptempo Master and Curator are Master tier.
Traits
Traits are long-running counters that climb through the same named tiers as rank. Each new tier pops a banner during play.
| Trait | Counts | Milestones |
|---|---|---|
| Perfectionist | Three-star clears | 1 (Gold), 3 (Platinum), 6 (Diamond), 20 (Master), 48 (Challenger) |
| Clean Sweep | Clears where you collected every gem, replays included | 1 (Gold), 2 (Platinum), 5 (Diamond), 15 (Master), 40 (Challenger) |
| Demolisher | Obstacles smashed during Surge | 10, 50, 150, 400, 900, 1,800, 3,200 and 5,000, Wood to Challenger |
Perfectionist counts every three-star clear, including replays, so it keeps rising as you polish levels you have already finished.
